Koi Shabazz '24 Recruiting Profile

My goal is to compete in college basketball while gaining a great education. I am very passionate about both basketball and academics, and I am driven to succeed in everything I do. I take pride in leading others to success as well. Some of my characteristics are being resilient, stoic, and in constant search for more knowledge to gain. I began playing basketball in the seventh grade and this sport has taught me a great amount of discipline that I may not have gotten else where. My ability to persevere and prevail is what separates me from others and I'm willing to work hard no matter the circumstance in order to meet the end goal.

Additionally, one of my biggest assets is that I am willing to play whatever position necessary to help my team. I focus on learning each aspect of the game and perfecting my craft in each area. Although I am currently the tallest on my high school team I still found myself doing whatever job needed regardless of my position. Whether my team needed me to take the ball up the court, get a rebound, or shoot a three pointer; I did what was needed and that is what leaders do.
