Amy Russell '20 Recruiting Profile

Hi, 

I am Amy, an athlete from Maui, Hawaii. I began to play beach volleyball in the summer when I was in third grade with my twin brothers.  I connected to this sport to be competitive, create a bond with a team, and benefit from a really good workout.    

I was thrilled to train in FLL before high school. I came home strong and ready to play beach volleyball with new goals and more focus.  I worked hard to play indoor varsity volleyball as a freshman and years after in high school.  

Playing volleyball gives me confidence and helps clear my head.  I am a leader and challenge myself daily.  I am consistent on the court and can play with anyone. I enjoy the mental and conditioning part of the game.

I want to study Kinesiology and embrace the movement to grow this sport and play on a college beach volleyball team. Beach volleyball is my passion. I want to embrace the sport as a life-long activity.
