Katherine Hansen '23 Recruiting Profile

My goal is to play Division 1 beach volleyball at a school where I can contribute not only on the court but also off the court. I have been playing volleyball since I was eight years old and I started playing competitive beach at the beginning of my freshman year. I fell in love with the sport.

I am a strong well rounded beach player, but my most valuable strengths are my defensive skills and I my very effective jump serve. I am an extremely competitive player, but I am also a very goofy, compassionate person.  I enjoy watching those around me succeed along with me. 

Although I love the game, my academics are extremely important to me.  Volleyball will always be a part of my life, but a good education is a key factor that will allow me to be successful in life.  Both are important.  I love to learn.  I love to play.  I love to excel at everything I do.  Learning both on and off the court provide me with a balance between work and play that I both live fully and appreciate.  In the class, I enjoy math, science, and politics.
