Ali Colburn '23 Recruiting Profile

I started my athletic career as a gymnast, competing through 9th grade and on the JO Level 8 team, training for Level 9.  This background allowed me to quickly find success in my first season of diving.  My current club team, Cornerstone Diving Center, focuses on proper skill progressions and key details that must be incorporated throughout every dive category.  Now in my 2nd season of diving I have taken the skills that I have learned and started the season by breaking our 6 dive high school record that was set in 2014.  With this foundation I hope to continue my training at the collegiate level.  My personal strengths that will contribute to continued success are my attention to detail, perseverance, competitive spirit and coachability.  I train with an open mindset and strive to apply all of the feedback that my coach provides to help me improve.   My academic success can also be attributed to these same characteristics and I am excited to excel both in the classroom and in the pool.
