My name is Katie Perry, and I am a Senior at Nashua High School South. In kindergarten, I joined USAG gymnastics and am currently an XCEL diamond gymnast. I began diving during my freshman year of high school and fell in love. I apply my gymnastics skills to the diving board and enjoy every practice. In high school, I joined the Cross Country, Swimming, Diving, and Outdoor Track teams, and I have been on Varsity for all of them. I joined a club dive team earlier this year, known as dive603d, to improve my diving skills during the off-season. I participate in clubs at my high school, such as the South Student Mentors, Best Buddies, and ASL Club.
Gymnastics has taught me how to take and apply corrections, stay determined, and give me air awareness. It has also taught me how to push through fears and learn new skills. All of these traits that I have acquired throughout my gymnastics career have been very useful on the diving board. Throughout my entire high school career, I balance multiple sports per season while maintaining good grades and working on my time management. In college, I plan to study Engineering, specifically Mechanical Engineering, and continue my diving career.
