When I started diving, I competed because it was fun for me. From sixth grade to eighth grade, I enjoyed the sport and had fun with my team--but I wasn't satisfied with my skill level. Freshman year, I committed myself to practice and improving myself. Because of my work, I've still retained the joy and the love that I have for the sport, and I've gained skills that make diving even more exciting. Sophmore year allowed me to completely upgrade my list, and I was moved up to the gold group on my team because of my improvement. I consider myself to be a resilient athlete, and I work hard to make the changes that I need to in order to get better. This last year and a half has shown a lot of growth for me, and I know that I will continue to push myself and learn new things.
Doing sports and being active is something that keeps me focused--not just on athletics, but on my other extracurriculars. The mindset that I take to practice is something that I have learned to apply to school as well, and my ambition has lead me to be successful in many aspects of my life. I look forward to diving in college, and I hope that I can find a team that is supportive and challenges me to pursue my goals.
