Personal Statement
My name is Shweta Doraisamy, and I am I am a junior at Westwood High School! I began diving when I was 11 years old after I quit swimming and gymnastics. I figured diving was the perfect combination of the sport and I instantly loved it! In my freshman year of high school, I got 1st place at my district meet and 4th at my regional meet. Then covid-19 occurred and everything was shut down from March 2020-August 2020. I starting practicing again in September when my club opened up, and then competed at my district meet and placed 1st. Then I competed at my regional meet, placing 2nd and advancing on to state! I love going to practice every day and pushing myself to be the best I can. Through diving, I have learned dedication, teamwork, and how to be a leader. I am now the captain of the dive team at my school!I don't let diving distract me from my school work and I have kept a good GPA throughout the school year. I do a good job balancing 4 AP classes and dive practice. I am very passionate about what I do and I appreciate criticism because it helps me learn from my mistakes and better myself.
