My name is Sarah Mooney
To get to know me, I have lettered at the varsity level in 5 sports..Softball, Tennis, Volleyball, Basketball and most recently Golf.
I first picked up a golf club in March of 2020…at the end of my junior year basketball season…Coach Daniel Aldridge helped me get started and was my coach until just recently when he accepted the head pro position at Auburn Golf Club…..when I watched the 2nd ball I ever hit, sail high and long and straight, I was hooked.
I still played travel volleyball…and varsity volleyball…and had 2 minor surgeries during the summer of 2020.
I made the decision to play golf full time in October of 2020.
I played my first tournament in December of 2020 at Azalea City Golf Course and shot a 121.
At an end of the season tournament of 2021, I shot a 50 and 44 for a 96 score.
I have tried to play in as many tournaments as possible this year and have had scores as follows
Fairhope high tryouts..89
Azalea City...(the one I shot 121 less than a year ago ) I shot a 50 and 49
Calloway Gardens..… I shot a 52 and a 44
Gulf Shores I shot a 60 and a 41. The 41 included 5 pars
I know my 18 hole scores still need some work, but I feel my scoring in the 40’s this early in my career proves that I have the ability to be a very good golfer as I gain playing experience and learn to deal with weather conditions…and course management.
I practice 6 days a week and will continue to play in as many tournaments as possible to improve my overall scores…and am attending the Auburn Golf camp in December
I am currently coached by David Musial at Glen Lakes Country club in Foley AL.
I am a fierce competitor with a good work ethic and a strong desire to be the best I can possibly be.
My goal is to shoot 84 or less by the end of the 2022 high school season.
I look forward to keeping you updated on my progress.
