Personal Statement
Hello, I'm Mary Lee a current junior at Bishop O'Dowd High School. I have been playing golf since I was eight years old. Ever since I started playing, I have been inspired to further purse my golf career by playing at the collegiate level.
The most inspiring moment so far in my high school golf experience was the placing top 3 in the 2019 WACC Division 1 All-League First Team tournament. By placing top 3, I had the amazing opportunity to qualify to play as an individual in tournaments and represent Bishop O'Dowd. This experience helped me grow tremedously as player and teammate. With the constant support of my team, I came back with more experiences to share and knowledge to work on. It motivated me to become a better solid player who works hard towards playing at the college level!
I am a student- athlete that holds 7 leadership positions, along with being a dragon ambassador and peer tutor at school. I have consistently volunteered at Junior Coach Golf to educate and share my experience and knowledge with younger kids who want to play golf. I also am the creator of an organization called ImpactZ dedicated to spreading awareness on global issues to the youth.
I aspire to find the right college for me where I can continue to work hard and challenge myself on the course and in the classroom. Through this journey I will continue to make my parents, peers, and most importantly myself proud!
