I hope to have more practice, more camaraderie, and more competitive play in my life through college golf.
Golf is a beautiful sport. Each shot, when perfectly executed, brings me a joy unlike any other. I marvel at the way the ball flies and how it drops, spins, and stops on the green. It's a unique sport in which you can discuss and play at the same time, and you gain respect both for an opponent's mental and physical skill.
Golf also depends upon ours upon hours of effort and grueling practice. What gets me through the difficulties of golf is the determination to find the perfect shot and the support from my teammates. My varsity team at Leland gave me some of the closest friendships forged through working hard and playing together.
I'm looking forward to a college experience full of hard work and close friendships!
