Personal Statement
Decided to take a gap year this year since I am a year younger than my schoolmates to improve my golf scores, upscale SAT score, and other reasons. I am also taking a couple of online college classes. My golf story or I should say my \"love of golf\" story started at the age of seven in Mexico. Playing golf in Mexico is much different than playing golf in the Woodlands, Texas. At my club in Mexico I was the only girl that played golf and was taught how to play from a caddy. It was quite fun to play on the course, but I wanted to compete and get better. When I was 11 years old, my parents and I moved to the Woodlands Texas. This was definitely a big change in my life. I am grateful to golf in this case because I built new friendships and relationships very quickly because of my love of the sport. I love to practice and I love the challenge to get better. It is amazing that through bad scores or rounds that you gain the most success from and you learn the most about yourself. I have learned to be persistent and to overcome setbacks until reaching a goal. I am constantly setting short term goals to improve my scoring. I am blessed to have a supportive family and a great team of golf coaches to help me along my journey. I was a senior in high school and played on the Woodlands High School golf team. The game of golf has taught me life and social skills like to be persistent, honest, and to become the person I am today. Apart from golf I am a musician, I sing, play the guitar, piano, and the violin. I also love to travel and languages. I am a happy person in and outside the golf course.
