I suffered a grade 3 ACL injury in May of this year. The injury occured on the ice in the LA Lions AAA off season program during a scrimmage.
I was told that I wouldn't be able to get back to competitive hockey without surgery and extensive rehabilitation and that the whole process would take a year. The odds of me getting back without surgery were insanely low.
However, if there's one thing you should know about me, it's that I don't take no for an answer. I immersed myself in rehab and physical therapy every day for over three months.
So much so that when I returned to my orthopaedic surgeon, my knee stability had almost completely returned and all of my strength and mobility had been regained.
After being cleared to skate again, I started team practices and skills sessions for the upcoming season and can't wait for college hockey, wherever it is I end up.
