Personal Statement
I love to play hockey, and I want to continue to play competitively, especially through college. Whenever I step out onto the ice, all the stress and worry I have disappears and I feel a sense of calmness and relief. Because of this, I always bring a positive energy onto the ice and every one of my past coaches have continuously said that I am a very coachable player with an excellent attitude. I've been lucky to have the opportunity to play hockey since I was 4, and therefore have had the love and encouragement from my family that has pushed me to put 100% effort into whatever I do. Growing up with an older brother and a twin brother, who are both accomplished players themselves, has pushed me competitively from a young age to be the very best hockey player I can be. I started as a defenseman but moved to forward the last three years because of my play making ability but I will always work hard in whatever position I am placed. I produce points for my teams and my coaches and dad often remind me that when I work hard and play well, the team feeds off it and does well. Currently I am attending a Catholic college-preparatory school (Northwest Catholic in West Hartford, CT) and I am taking all honors classes, and after my freshman year and three quarters of my sophomore year, I have made first honor roll every marking period. My focus in education is math and science, which I hope will lead to a technical career in the future.
