Vanessa Clavey '23 Recruiting Profile

Hello Coaches, 

I am a senior at Libertyville High School in Libertyville Illinois. For the remainder of high school, I plan to maintain and improve my 3.9 GPA. I have always had a love for animals so I plan to study pre-veterinary medicine to have a future career as a veterinarian. 

I have been playing hockey since the age of five and would love to continue playing throughout college. Over the years hockey has taught me to organize and manage my time effectively. It has also taught me the value of friendship and the strong bonds that are created on the team. 

I am a very versatile player and can be successful at defense, center, and wing but my preference would be to play left wing. On the ice, I communicate with my teammates and always put forth my best effort. I am effective in many areas that don’t show up on the score sheet such as battling in front of the net to create a screen on the goalie, backchecking and picking up open players, and blocking shots from the blue line. On the bench, I am a supportive teammate and encourage my teammates to try their hardest and to keep working hard. I always show up ready to play and put 110% effort into practices and games.
