I started playing lacrosse in 9th grade of high school, slowly improving my skills. Last year in 10th grade, I found my love for the sport and began to put in hard work to become a defensive starter for our varsity team and received the Most Improved Player at the end of the season by our coaches. Last year, I attended the Nike USA Lacrosse camp at Adrian Colledge in Adrian, Michigan and participated in the President's Cup in Bradenton, Florida with the Florida Palms team as a "guest" player, which both helped me to improve my play.
Our high school varsity season is in full swing. As of February 26, 2024, our record is 3-1; and we hope to add two more wins this week. To my joy, our coaching staff has moved to a starting midfielder. I am enjoying my new position and the transition to running the entire field. As a midfielder, I can remain an effective defensive player on the entire field, and it allows me to use my speed on offensive breakaways. I have sharpened my stick skills and become a better ground ball getter, as well as learning goal attacking moves. Basically, as a midfielder, I am becoming a more versatile and effective player on the entire field, causing a lot of opposing teams to drop the ball and getting in on groundball digs for offensive breakaways.
While I have not yet mastered my shot selection and attack on goal, that is the next skill I will achieve to be a more well-rounded player who can be effective in any position on the field. I believe with my dedication to improving my all-around lacrosse skills and my speed will be an asset to a college women's lacrosse team.
I will be updating new videos clips of my play this season shortly that at will not only highlight my effectiveness as a defensive player but demonstrate my speed and tenacity on the field as a midfielder.
Thanks for checking me out!
