- Presidents Cup 2019
Personal Statement
I first played lacrosse as part of the "Little Wings" Co-Ed introductory lacrosse program with our local community recreation program in first grade and have been playing ever since. As a junior in high school, I am in my 11th year of play. I am a three sport varsity athlete during the school season and play club lacrosse. I am also on the executive committee for my class, am a school ambassador, a big buddy for an elementary student and co-lead our high school SAIL program. In the summers, I attend overnight camp and play on a variety of sports teams through our inter-camp league, including tennis, track, volleyball and basketball.
Although I am on the attacking side of the house for my high school team, my favorite elements of the game are the redefend in the 30, the transition, the ride and opening up lanes to create space for teammates. I love fast break offense and to run the ball.
Being a part of a lacrosse team is something that I truly love. I have been fortunate to have been on the Maineiax Club Lacrosse team for 8 years and have developed lifelong friendships as a result.
In my first two years on the varsity team at Falmouth High School, I have been a part of the most cohesive, talented and connected lacrosse team I could ever imagine playing with. We have won back to back state championships - the firsts ever by a girls lacrosse team in our town. We also won the Sportsmanship Award for Class A Girls - another honor never before bestowed upon the girls lacrosse team at our school. My varsity coach has taught us to be a team and a team that others aspire to be a part of. I credit her for building a connection with her players that wins titles and commitment to the sport. I have had incredibly talented teammates who helped me improve my game.
As I look toward college, I want to be a part of a team. A team that works as a team and collaborates as a team. I am also looking for a school that fits my academic interests and allows me the opportunity to be a member of the community at the school. Thank you in advance for your interest. I am excited about my lacrosse and college future.
