Personal Statement
Hello,
My name is Lorelei Carter. I am 17 years old and I have been rowing since I was in 8th grade but I got serious about rowing my freshmen-sophomore year. I am now a junior in high school and the Varsity girl's team captain here at Vero Beach rowing. Rowing has really helped me be so confident and really find my voice. It has given me so many good life skills and challenges. Rowing is also just such a good way to meet amazing people. I feel like my team is like a family and we are together 6 days a week and sometimes more if we have races on the weekend. I am truly so passionate about this sport and I light up every time I have to recruit someone for rowing because I love seeing my team grow and also seeing people enjoy this sport just as much as i do. ODP also helped me a lot to realize I want to row in college. Just the whole experience was so amazing.
