I made the decision to walk onto the rowing team in my first year at NMH as a sophomore, despite having no prior experience. I grew up sailing every summer and missed the rhythm and connection of being on the water after spending three years in cross country and track. After being a novice in the fall, I worked my way from the fourth boat to the second and raced at NEIRAs in the spring. This fall, I earned a seat in our Youth U17 boat at the Head of the Charles, and we placed 13th overall. This spring, I have been stroking the 1V.
Rowing has quickly become a defining part of my life. Over the past year and a half, I've learned how to push through mental and physical limits, stay consistent under pressure, and lead by example. Whether it's early morning practices or tough pieces, I've come to love the process as much as the results.
I hope to continue rowing at the collegiate level in a program that values respect, discipline, and continuous improvement both on and off the water. I'm looking for a team where I can keep growing as an athlete, teammate, and leader.
