Hello, my name is Ava Abrams! I am currently a senior on the varsity crew team at St. Anthony’s High School.
I first joined crew to try a new hobby in the winter of 2021, and I have loved it ever since. From then to now, I have gone beyond what I initially thought were my limits, and still continue to push myself. I seek improvement, not only on the water, but also during winter conditioning and over summer break. I constantly work hard to improve my technique and strength. I am always open-minded to advice from my coaches and encourage my teammates so we can all improve our team together.
In addition to rowing, I also do competitive dance. This has helped me with much of my technique and synchrony; two important traits that have benefitted me as a rower.
Along with challenging myself on the water, I seek academic excellence by taking mostly honors and AP classes and being part of the National Honor Society. I also love giving back to my community, especially by helping children with special needs.
In college, I hope to be part of a team that supports my goals and helps me become the best version of myself. Overall, I believe that with my determination, receptiveness, optimism, and teamwork ethics, I can be a great asset to any collegiate team.
