Yes. English 12H: a survey of the major periods and writers of British literature from the Anglo-Saxon period to the twentieth century. In learning about what is perhaps the greatest literary tradition in the world, students will read a wide variety of authors and genres as they sharpen their critical and analytical reading, thinking, and writing skills in preparation for college. Compared to the work in English 12, the work in English 12H will require more challenging reading, more in-depth analysis, more abstract thinking, and the development of a more polished writing style. Students will write several analytical essays as well as a formal research paper on a literary topic.
Spanish 5H:The course is project based and through the use of literature, print and Web-based media, film, television, and video conferencing, students will develop projects to be presented, interact with students whose primary language is Spanish, and discuss the arts, current events and other areas of cuAre you in AP/IB classes?
Yes. AP Government and Politics: This course will give students an analytical perspective on government and politics in the United States. It includes both the study of general concepts used to interpret U.S. politics and the analysis of specific examples. It will require familiarity with the various institutions, groups, beliefs, and ideas that constitute U.S. politics. Students will become acquainted with the variety of theoretical perspectives and explanations for various behaviors and outcomes. Topics will include constitutional underpinnings of U.S. government, political beliefs and behaviors, political parties, interest groups and mass media, institutions of national government, public policy, and civil rights and civil liberties. Students are required to take the AP Exam in May.
