Casey McQuillan '23 Recruiting Profile

Hi! My name is Casey McQuillan, I am 16 years old and a junior at Suffern Senior High School. Currently I am a coxswain for Suffern Varsity Rowing, mainly coxing for the boys team. I started crew in 8th grade an instantly fell in love with the sport. Unfortunately due the circumstances of the pandemic my freshman year of coxing was unable to occur. What many viewed as a set back in my coxing was actually my motivation, and earned me a spot coxing a boys varsity 4 boat my sophomore year. I was also given the opportunity to step in to a cox a girls senior varsity 4 at a regatta when a coxswain was absent.In a short period of time I developed a high rowing IQ,  a demanding and stern voice in the boat, and the respect of teammates and coaches on my schools team. Walking into my junior season i am expected to cox a boys varsity light weight 4. In the past few months I have become extremely dedicated to my role as a coxswain, and am interested in taking my talents to the collegiate level. I believe I have great leadership skills and would be an asset to any team I could walk on to. I hope by creating an NCSA account, I will get the opportunity to speak with many talented program, and maybe become part of one of them.
