Growing up, my entire life was dedicated to competitive swimming. But everything changed when I fell in love with rowing freshman year of high school. Through rowing, I found the true sense of teamwork that I never knew as a swimmer. Knowing the girls in my boat have my back just as I have theirs provides a great source of inspiration for me to constantly better myself. Rowing has taught me an abundance of patience. This patience also bring qualities of perseverance and determination. This mindset has facilitated success throughout my academic career and rowing career in high school.
One of my best attributes is my positive and relaxed outlook. No matter how south a situation is going, I remain calm and focused. All this, along side the love I have for competitive racing makes me want to row for as long as I can. I've always had this deep love of science and I dream of becoming a doctor one day. I believe the values and lessons I'll continue to learn as a collegiate student athlete will aid me in the future as I pursue that dream.
