When I was a freshman in highschool, I joined the Bothell Rowing team. From the first practice I knew that it was going to challenge not only my physical abilities, but my mental abilities as well. Rowing for three years has taught me that in order to push hard physically, there needs to be a component of mental toughness. I aspire to row for the rest of my life and by doing that, I will continue my rowing journey through out college. I am willing to push as hard as I physically can using the skills that I have learned during my time at Bothell high school. One of those skills include the ability to challenge pain rather than avoid it. My coach, Jay Finney, has taught me that pain is just a mindset. I will use this lesson throughout college rowing to push my limits and exceed my goals. I do not set limits for myself, and I strive to be the best that Is physically possible. I am open to change, and do not question change when I am told that I need it. I have drive that has been created by rowing, and I intend to use it to my advantage.
