Personal Statement
I am a multi-sport, 4.35 honors student with numerous extracurricular activities, including a National U.S. Open Robotics STEM Championship and I captained a team of all boys at the 2022 World VEX Competitions. I am a 5' 8", 145, 2008 competing on a highly competitive 07 ECRL team and my goal is to play college soccer at a highly competitive, highly selective institution.
This past season, as left center back, I led our defense that allowed only 13 goals in 14 ECRL league games. In friendlies and showcases, our defense allowed only 12 goals in 24 games. I scored 4 goals during the season and started 42 of 44 matches this year (missing only for Catholic confirmation) and played 3,370 of 3,520 total minutes. I recently was honored at my 8th grade graduation with the prestigious Monsignor Allen Award which is not given every year and most recently 7 years ago. An excerpt from the description of those honored with this award captures the spirit of what I feel differentiates me:
Our Final award for the evening is The Monsignor Allen Award. This award is not given every year. It is only given to a student who exemplifies Msgr. Allen’s attitude of kindness, spirit of unselfishness, and generosity of time.
This award is given to people of excellence. They are kind to everyone, they are mature, responsible and caring. They know who they are and they will not let peer pressure change them. They are understanding and willing to help others with problems. They are good students and try hard in all subjects.
They are honest and trustworthy. They keep secrets, tell the truth and are honest when they make mistakes. They are overall exceptional people.
We are proud to present the Msgr Allen Award to: Carson Vogelpohl
