Personal Statement
I grew up watching my cousins play football and basketball. Whenever I went to their games I was always so interested. After their seasons were over soccer season started. My father coached me which really helped me feel comfortable playing from the beginning. As I continued to train and gain experience I realized that I not only loved the game….I loved the competition. Leadership is another aspect of the game that I have grown into. I’ve noticed some teammates have led by being vocal forces and inspiring with their words which is great! However, I continue to feel that teams also need quiet leaders that are an example of what training should look like, what focus should consist of, and what striving for peak performance truly is. I’m comfortable in this role because it helps me to be unselfish with the ball creating opportunities for me and my teammates to be in the right spot and score goals...the ultimate objective! Every team in every sport goes through a tough time whether it’s playing down players due to injury or trying to claw your way back from a two or three goal deficit with little time on the clock. It's during these times especially that I have learned to answer the call and to make my own luck.
I realize that if I want to be accepted into a great college and play soccer for that college I will have to continue to aspire to do my best in school as well as in soccer. I am looking for an opportunity with a college that is a good fit for me both athletically and academically. I’d love to play for a coaching staff that requires the most of their athletes on and off the field. If I sound like the type of student and athlete you’re searching for please consider me for a role with your squad!
