Sarah Burkes '25 Recruiting Profile

My name is Sarah Burkes and I currently play on the 07 Girls Blue ECNL RL team for Walnut Creek Surf.  My club coach the past two years is Steve Bradley. We played ECNL RL the past two years.  I have started as center back and have been captain on this team for the last nine years. I was coached for two years by former Brazilian world cup soccer player, Marcia Taffarel. The four years before that I was coached by another former Brazilian world cup player and Golden Boot recipient, Sissi Do Amor. I made the Surf Select Regional and National teams in the past.

In 2021-22 I played JV for Northgate High School in Walnut Creek, CA. I was the only freshman selected for that team. I was honored to be named team captain and MVP of that team. During the season I also had some playing time on varsity.  In the 2022-23 season I was the starting center back as a sophomore on Varsity and was chosen First Team All League in the Diablo Athletic League. In the 2023-24 High school season I was again the starting center back on varsity.  I was honored to be named Defensive MVP of the Diablo Athletic League.  The Northgate H.S. coaches also chose me as the MVP of our team. In the 2024-25 High school season I was again the starting center back and was chosen First Team All League in the Diablo Athletic League.

I will be playing soccer for George Fox University in the fall of 2025.  I had offers from four different colleges to play soccer.

I currently have a juggling record of over 2,700.  I also volunteer for TOPSoccer, which is a program for young athletes with disabilities.
