Personal Statement

I am 5'9'' and 165 pounds. I am quick in the box and very, very aggressive. I was recently awarded one of four top goalkeepers of the Chicagoland area. I am a hard worker and am devoted to the sport soccer. I work so hard to improve myself as a player and also help to improve team mates by positive feedback. I will always stay after practices to improve something that may need more work or stay to do more drills. I give my all to do my part as a team mate and it sounds cheesy, but i am really the first to arrive and the last to leave a game or practice. I have played soccer for almost 14 years now and have always played Gk.. It is my goal to play in college. I have prepared myself to do that as a gk. I can punt the ball around 60 yrds on a field consistently. I can also offer leadership as a player. GK's are leaders and that is what i have always done, is be a leader. I always encourage my teammates to be the best and to bring out the best player in them because this is a team sport and one man(in this case girl) cannot win for a team. So i can say that my part to the game can be confidently stood behind, proven to uphold. It really doesn't matter where i go as long as i can play gk. i am looking for a medium type school or smaller. My desired major is education because i love to help other people learn. My goals are to play as a freshman because i know i can compete for a starting spot. I know my goal is to play at the highest level possible because it will always make me fight harder and become a better player in order to be better. I want to make an impact on a college team for the better. I have now played one year at a college and even though I am transferring I am ready to make an impact at a new college. I unfortunately had to have surgery on my elbow, done by Dr. Gryzlo, it is also known as the Tommy John surgery. It was done in december from tearing my ligaments in a Septembers game and playing on it all season unbeknownst to me.. I want to play badly, but am still rehabbing and getting stronger everyday. This injury will not slow me down and I want to get back to goalkeeping as quick as possible. It is a years rehab and I am in month 6.5 and am looking to be back before the 12 months rehab supposedly needed for this injury. My rehab has been great and I am back throwing already. I don't want this to affect anything, but I want everyone to know when I get back to playing I will give it my all.
