Since I first stepped on the soccer field in the first grade to play, AYSO soccer, I have had a strong, undeniable love and passion for the game, I strive to continue developing so that I can be the best player, teammate, and leader that I can be. I hope to continue learning and playing the game I love in college.
My position is forward. I am very good at reading the game and identifying oppurtunities to bring my teammates into the game. I am a strong, physical, and fast player. I have learned how to take hits, play through contact, draw fouls, and to never give up. Last spring, in order to push myself and improve as a soccer player, I played on both my club team and on the U15 boys team. This experience taught me important lessons about the importance of combining strength and quickness, and about adapting to a different, quicker style of play. I am proud to say that I held my own playing against the boys.
I also give one hundred percent and leave it all on the field, whether my team is up by two or down by two. One of the things I love about being a striker is that a really difficult game can change in an instant when I find a chance to make a great run, place a pass on the foot of a teammate or, redirect a corner kick. I love being part of a team. Being a striker, I know that nothing I do is possible without working closely with my teammates, knowing what they are thinking and sensing where they are going. I love working on building the communication that makes us a better team. I have built some of my closet friendships with my teammates and the sense of togetherness that I feel both on and off the field with my teammates is special.
The most important thing to me in regards to soccer is work rate. Often times I do several practices a day in order to become the best player possible. This has lead to me forming amazing relationships with all the coaches at my club as well with several players from different age groups. I have found a love for helping out with the younger teams at my club. I warm up, train, and give lessons to the U9, U10, U11, and U14 players. During tournaments I warm up the younger teams if our coaches are busy with other teams. I often get to the field hours before or stay hours after my team plays or trains in order to help prepare and cheer on the younger girls. I genuinely enjoy working with the younger players to help them in their development and I cherish the relationships I have formed with them and their families.
I bring the same attitude to school that I bring to the soccer field. Both my coaches and teachers have described me as someone who has grit, is a hard worker, determined, as a great team player. I enjoy the challenges of high school and finding out what I can accomplish, both as an athlete and academically. I will continue challenging myself to be the best I can be. I look forward to seeing what my future holds and to finding the college that suits me best as a student athlete.
