Makenna Burnett '25 Recruiting Profile

Winning the IAAM C Championship my freshman year, along with being named to the All-Conference Team was, so far, the highlight of my high school career.  That experience really affirmed my love of the game of soccer.  It truly helped to solidify the fact that if I work hard, was a great teammate, and stayed positive good things can happen.  It also taught me to play with grit and believe in myself and my capabilities.  As an athlete in several sports, I was always discounted for my size even though I had great work ethic and ability.  My competitive nature pushes me towards my goal of playing soccer in college.

I am a junior black-belt in American Kenpo Karate - I feel like this sport enabled me to build my own self confidence and discipline.  I am three sport athlete, in soccer, basketball, and lacrosse.  I am looking for a program that is a good fit for me both academically and athletically.  I want to be a contributing member of the team from all aspects and feel that I have the work ethic, leadership skills, and desire to succeed both on the field and in the classroom.
