My name is Kira Upton and I am a shooting guard who is coachable, has excellent court vision, plays strong defense, and has a high basketball IQ. I am looking for a school with a competitive basketball team and a good academic program (especially math) where I can thrive. I am a passionate player who can bring energy to the team. This summer and for my senior year I am working on strength and consistency.
At St. Timothy's School we have been one of the top teams in our conference the last two years, making it to the conference finals in 2023. I have led the team in 3pt shooting, started every game in my 10th and 11th grade seasons and led the team in minutes played. Our success is moving us up to IAAM Class A for my senior year, so we will be competing against some nationally ranked high schools.
I started playing basketball when I was in 2nd grade and got serious in 6th grade when I started AAU. I enjoyed the challenging practices and was also doing my own workouts (usually at 6am before school). I still like to be the first and last in the gym. My Middle School team was elite, winning USJN Nationals in 6th grade, AAU Nationals in 7th, and the East Coast Rose League in 8th grade, just before the pandemic shut down.
I was a captain on my high school team my junior year and will be my senior year as well. I know how to bring a winning work ethic and attitude to every practice and game, and I'm ready to take on any role to help my team!
