Hi, my name is Abigail Medeiros. Playing competitive college soccer has always been a goal of mine, including being able to study Physical Therapy and Sports Medicine. However, my dream is to pursue professional soccer.
I am willing to work hard to make my dream a reality, and I am constantly putting myself out of my comfort zone. When I first started club soccer I was on the bottom of the roster, and barely getting any playing time. I asked my coach what I needed to do to get better. With great determination and instruction from my coach, I improved greatly. Now, I have been the captain of my team for the past 3 years and a starting center back that plays every minute of every game. I also play attacking mid and I am willing to learn other positions.
I am a member of the National Junior Honor Society and I continue to maintain my grades even with my rigorous schedule; including club practices 3 times a week, SAQ and Injury prevention twice a week, and technical training once a week.
On the field I am vocal and encouraging with my teammates. I bring a positive attitude to every practice and game, and I’m always pushing my teammates to do their best.
When I'm not in school or playing soccer, I help out my local town soccer team. Whether it be setting up the fields, breaking down the fields, or assisting with coaching.
