- 2019 Highlights #2
Personal Statement
Academically, I would like to go to a college that is challenging enough that I can grow in my knowledge and graduate feeling like I have learned enough to succeed in the jobs I want to pursue. As far as soccer goes, I would preferably like to play division one, but overall I just want to be able to get playing time and do the sport I love all four years. I think I am a good candidate for teams at the collegiate level because I am a very coachable player and also very versatile. I play wingback, wing forward and center forward and am able to contribute to my team at all three positions. In almost all of my evaluations with my coaches, they have told me that even though I may not be the loudest or the most outgoing person on the team, they consider me a team leader and can tell that my teammates have a lot of respect for me. I think this makes me different from other recruits because even though I'm not super outspoken like many team leaders and captains are, my calm and more shy demeanor commands the same respect from other players, which is helpful on and off the field. Another thing that sets me apart is that I am a multi-sport athlete. I play basketball, I swim, and I run track on top of club soccer. During the spring, I do soccer and track for my high school at the same time. In addition to multiple sports, I also do a lot of activities involving singing. While juggling all these activities is exhausting sometimes, I think it helps me learn to balance my life out, which will be important in college.
