Growing up in an extremely athletic family, I have developed a strong love for sports. Soccer is my specialty, but I also enjoy playing basketball, volleyball, and softball. I've grown up around soccer all my life, from playing it since I was four to watching my mom's collegiate athletes play in the NCAA tournament.
I constantly work by the three things I can control: my work ethic, my attitude, and my communication. I work hard for myself and others, whether that be by setting and breaking club-wide agility testing records, or being a role model for my teammates. I strive to be the loudest and most sportsmanlike athlete on the field, and I know my coaches appreciate that.
From my ability to out-run almost any defender, to my excellent technical skill, explosive shot, and vision for the field, to my coachability and humble leadership, I'm a strong asset to every team I play on. I hope college coaches recognize me as a dynamic recruit.
But my athletic persona doesn't define me; I am a hard-working student with grades to show it. My test scores (top 1%) qualified me for the highest Merit-based scholarship my school offers. Also, I have a strong love for English and literature. I have written novels that I might want to pursue publishing in the future and many poems that have won contests and have been published in anthologies.
I hope to find the college best suited for me, one where I can grow in my abilities and develop as a person.
