Addison Varley '25 Recruiting Profile

Soccer has been a consistent factor in my life since I was five years old. Over the years, I have strived to improve and become an elite competitor. I aspire to play college soccer, regardless of level, and attend a selective school that will challenge me academically and provide programs of study that interest me and can progress me into my career. I am a player who cares deeply about how I play, and always wants to become better. I am coachable, intelligent, and understand many aspects of the game. I am also someone who wants to support their teammates and create trust with them in order to build friendships and seamless playing. I am a very empathetic person which makes me a good teammate as I am able to relate to and encourage my fellow players rather than judge or tear them down. I work hard and put in the work in my own time as well. When it comes to technical playing, I have been trained that way for most of my life. I have a strong and accurate leg, field awareness, good delivery and passing ability, strong body and aggressiveness, foot skills, and a powerful shot. Academically, I have been a good student all my life, and I care very much about school. I set myself to high standards in school, and put in the work to fulfill them. Some of the life skills that I learn are from the reading that I do, and I credit a lot of my being an empath to the emotions portrayed through characters and stories that I pick up on. One of the most important things about me is how my empathy as aforementioned plays into daily life in the broader picture. I care about the issues of the world and try to advocate for people who experience hate, and for ways to make the world a better, kinder, and more accepting place.
