As a multi-sport athlete, finding balance and exactly what I need to do for myself mentally, physically, and socially has been a journey but I know it will all make sense at the end of the day.
One trait about myself is that I sense when help is needed from others. Noticing that the issue is not getting addressed, I have this feeling to take charge and do what I can to assist. Having this trait as a student-athlete can really come in hand when noticing one of your teammates is not understanding a drill or one of your classmates not getting the correct answer after 3 failed attempts. This is what makes me a good candidate.
The complaints I received on my character, attitude, and passion made me realize how determined I really am. I may come as bashful and reserved when first approaching each other but it is easy to open up my warmhearted and kind personality. When it comes to my athletics, I would like to say I do try my best to stay content and well-natured but I am very competitive and ruthless at times. I do know how to control myself but it takes me a minute to do so. Academically, I would like to view myself as hard-working but I am not motivated at times. It all ties in with my mental health. Some days will be harder than others which is completely okay. Learning the differences between giving myself a break and totally giving up has saved me a ton.
