Hi. My name is Alyson Witt. I aspire to play soccer at the collegiate level and beyond. I´m a very hard worker, i´m willing to learn and grow as needed. I I have maintained a 4.5 GPA throughout my high school career while playing club soccer, LCHS soccer and LCHS basketball. As a child I played basketball, this help me to develop great hand-eye coordination. Unfortunately I was only introduced to the sport of soccer Sophomore year but that did not stop me from trying out. For about half of the soccer season I excelled on the field. Then one day at practice my former coach Bradley Mallon suggested I get in goal just to see how i´d fair. As soon as I got between the pipes I immediately knew I had found my proper place on the field. My coaches were astonished, I was stopping shots left and right. Where i was lacking in proper technique I made up for with my quick footwork and my above average vertical leap. I had acquired these skills in my four years of personal training prior to soccer. Also my constant weight training and conditioning drills helped me to excel in goal.
Shortly after the discovery of my talent for goalkeeping, I began to take the starting position of goalkeeper for the varsity soccer team of Lee County High school. It was quite unheard of to become the starting goalkeeper on varsity being a first time player of the sport. I continued to excel in goal while blocking a countless number of shots and defending my share of penalty kicks. I was known for my key saves in clutch situations. When the season came to a close I contacted Mr. Hunter Pages of AC Sandhills, he proceeded to make me his head goalkeeper of the 2000 women´s soccer team. During this season I have learned all the ins and outs of goalkeeping. I have been perfecting my goalkeeping abilities since the start of the travel season. My story while it is not a common one it is one of hard work and a great work ethic. I believe that in order to become a great player, regardless of athletic ability is to have the mindset that I am going to achieve my goals through hard work and determination. In order to get to the next level you have to be willing to work hard. You have to be able to persevere and conquer any obstacle. You have to have the drive to be successful. I plan on excelling in the classroom, on the field, in my community and for a college team in the future. One of my favorite quotes is "Do something every single day, do the things other people aren't willing to do."- Ashlyn Harris.
Thank you for reading my story, I hope it displayed the qualities you are looking for in a player and also in a person!
