My name is Lauren(lo) Perrie and I am finishing grade 10 as a Pre-IB student at Prince Andrew High School and will continue into the program for my final years of school(2017-2019). I completed my freshmen year as a French immersion student at The Eastern Passage Education Centre(epec), Nova Scotia. I am a focused, hard working, driven individual who takes my academic success as solemnly as my athletic achievement's. I have been able to manage a balanced soccer training schedule, while maintaining the marks that earn me a spot on the Honours roll at Prince Andrew High.
Helping ones around me and making a change in the world is important to me. During my grade 11 year in the IB program there is a project that includes giving back to my community and helping the ones in need. The project is known as Creativity, Activity, Service, also known as CAS. CAS requires students to take part in a range of experiences and one project. The project and activities should include, real, purposeful activities, with significant outcomes. Personal challenge, thoughtful consideration, such as planning, reviewing progress, and reporting. Also a reflection on the outcomes and personal learning. My goal for my CAS project is to be of value in peoples lives and to create change. For my project I would like to help children in need who may not have access to many things, such as what I have access to. I believe all kids should be able to have the opportunity to play a sport, and have access to the education they deserve. This project will encourage students to go out and do something they may not have done on their own, it creates character and self confidence.
I am a confident individual on off and the field. I like to step up and take the lead in many things I take part in in life. I am a dynamic, creative player, I love to go one on one and set up the perfect play. I consider myself to be a proactive player on and off the ball and a leader on and off the field. One characteristic of mine that is valued the most, is my communication. I like to speak to players on and off the field such as it is their first time playing soccer. I like to be the confidence for players when they lack confidence themselves. I consider myself to lead by example as I am a hard working player who will never give up.
Aside from soccer. In 2016 I paddled at Nationals in three war canoes. My K4 crew came fifth in our A final at Peewee/Bantam champs in 2015. I have competed at track taking part in 100m,200m,400m,800m,4x100m and 4x400m, and being successful in all events. I am an outgoing passionate person who wants to train to get better, and win. I dream big and create challenges to reach the goals I have set out for myself. I want to play at the highest level with great coaches, and great players!
