“Champions aren’t made in the gym. Champions are made from something they have deep inside of them-a desire, a dream, a vision.” This quote by Muhammad Ali embodies how I approach being a soccer player. One of my dreams I have been working toward is to play collegiate soccer. I possess a love for the game of soccer which motivates me to set goals, challenge myself and strive to improve my skill set. As the Defensive Midfielder, I lead my team in maintaining ball possession and tackles, and I also have a strong soccer IQ for understanding how the game is played and strategy. My teammates would tell you I’m competitive, mentally tough, focused, and dedicated. They would also tell you that I put my team first and that we have a positive team culture built on mutual respect and trust. My academic goals include a desire to pursue a college degree in neuroscience and then attend medical school. I currently maintain a 4.0 GPA and will receive an International Baccalaureate (IB) diploma upon graduation. In both athletics and academics, I set goals and work tirelessly toward achieving them relying on my determination, grit, and passion for my pursuits.
