Sophia Mahoney '19 Recruiting Profile

Hi! I'm currently a junior at a small all-girls school right outside Philadelphia, Saint Basil Academy. As an athlete, I have the my endurance, strength, determination, and leadership qualities that have helped make made me a starting varsity soccer player since freshman year. I am proud to say that I was named as a captain in my junior year, and I helped lead my quaint school to the PIAA “2A” State Championship game in Hershey, PA last fall. This year I have also qualified for the indoor track State Championship, and am hoping my team does the same in the outdoor track season. As a student, I have managed to balance sports and academics by receiving high honors since freshman year. Being an art scholarship recipient has also taught me how to manage my time, and to even take time to relax now and then.

           I have loved soccer ever since I could walk, and I can't imagine my world without it. My collegiate goals are to stay busy with academics and soccer-and excel in them both! My competitive nature and eagerness to learn will help me achieve these goals, and I'm excited to find the college or university that will help me do so.
