Karina Rubio '20 Recruiting Profile

Hello, I am Karina L. Rubio and I go to Foy H. Moody High School, I have been playing soccer since the age of 5 and I haven't stopped loving it. In high school, I made the varsity soccer team my freshman year and have been a returning member every year after. In my sophomore year, I decided to join cross-country and I also made the varsity team and that same year I made captain for the varsity soccer team.  But through every year of playing one of my main priorities was my academics. I tried my hardest to make the best grades every year since elementary.  Going into high school I had the decision to join one of the academies offered at my school, and I chose to enter the Health and Science Academy as my future goal is to be a nurse practitioner or a pediatric nurse. Through the academy, I have been able to learn all about the medical field and get a step closer to my goal. Since joining the academy I have learned all about how just by playing soccer I have prepared myself for my career goal because just like in soccer I have to learn how to be a team member and work all together with a health care team and when its time for me to stand up and take charge then that's what I'll do.  Soccer has been and always will be one of the most important aspects of my life because of all the lessons and joy that it brought me.
