Soccer will always be something that has changed my life for the better, and it is my goal to play at the collegiate level. I want to continue to grow as a player and play with others who also share the passion I have. Soccer has always been an escape for me and has held a special place in my heart. I started playing rec soccer at the age of 7 and joined a travel team when I was 13. As a freshman I made my high school’s varsity team and was a starting player every game. I have continued to be a starting player throughout my high school career. I also participate in varsity cross country, varsity indoor track and varsity spring track. These all ultimately help me stay in shape and allow me to be able to move up and down the field at a high rate of speed for a long duration of time.
As a student, I am very determined and dedicated to learning. I am in the International Baccalaureate Program and I have maintained a 4.5 GPA and Honor Roll for the past three years. Being in this rigorous program has taught me to be able to balance my time efficiently while still handling tough classes and sports.
I am a very coach-able and versatile player. If my team needs to prevent goals from happening or allow movement out of the back, I am put in center-back. If we are losing and need a goal, I am put at outside midfield to help create goal scoring opportunities. I feel that two of my strongest traits on the field are my speed and aggression. Since I run varsity cross country, varsity indoor track, and varsity spring track I am able to have the speed to make runs when in an attacking position and to defend my goal when on defense. If someone pushes me down or if I mess up, instead of getting upset I will come back harder and get the ball.
I am hoping to be able to play soccer at a higher level and I am willing to push myself to be able to do so.
