I am a dedicated scholar-athlete, and work extremely hard on and off the field--balancing soccer with school, a job and community service. I choose to propel myself with grit and determination to achieve high academic results and do not shy away from challenging courses. For example, after a very successful year of growth in my academics, I am now enrolled in Washington State's Running Start Program, which means that while I am still a Vashon Island HS student, I am solely taking college courses at Seattle Central College. I'm aiming to play college soccer at an academically-strong school, and am doing all I can to prepare for this new level! Further, I am really interested in human behavior and the workings of the brain, and would like to pursue studies in college that support this.
I was the first junior to be the captain on my high school varsity team. I am aggressive, mentally strong, and smart in my tackles and 50/50s. As the 6 and CB, I switch the ball often and am successful at finding the simple passes, maintaining possession. I am very competitive and am willing to put my body on the line. While I'm never satisfied with a loss or a tie, I walk away as a good sport, knowing I gave nothing less than 110%, and remain open to critique knowing it only helps me grow as a player.
Some of my favorite memories, from when I was younger, were going to a local field with my father and older brother in hopes of finding pick-up games to join. And because we played mostly with international college kids and newly-arrived adult immigrants from all around the globe, I felt I received the gift of rich cultural experiences. I learned a lot from them, as well, from new skills and thicker skin to tactical advice. I hope to be the same kind of influence on younger aspiring soccer players!
Thank you for taking the time to review my profile. I would love to hear from you!

Letter of Recommendation / To Whom it May Concern:
After coaching for over twenty years at many different levels and countries, I have been able to coach many soccer players with tons of different and unique personalities on and off the field. However, every now and then as a coach you meet a special player, the type of player that makes your job easier. Then, to top it off, this player even shows you she's a one of a kind young woman. We're talking about Dalia Aladin.
Dalia is a player originally from Seattle, WA, she has played for me at PacNW G00 (DOB 12/22/00) for the last two seasons, always looking to continue growing in the game, and pursuing exposure to college opportunities. As a player, Dalia is known for working harder than everyone, her stamina, her physicality in the form of defensive effort, showing an understanding of simple decision making when it comes to combining and connecting the dots, and her abilities to win a lot of balls, her commitment to the game, her ability to make the great efforts seem so natural, the way to get along with everyone, her "coachability" and even her sense of humor that makes her who she is.
She is the kind of player that every coach wants to have at the field, she is very reliable, and her effort is contagious. However, her soccer talent falls short compared to her personality, she's the typical young woman that not only would say hi, but also check on you, will ask questions and somehow will always show her sense of humor and incredibly contagious enthusiasm.
To be honest, Dalia is so gifted that when she asked me to write a letter on her behalf, I agreed to do it, knowing how easy it was to compliment her, but also how hard it would be to choose just enough words to describe her properly without becoming too extent.
Thanks for your time, I do hope you may consider Dalia Aladin for your program, there are great young talented women, and then there is Dalia. I would be delighted to discuss with you further my experience with her.
Sincerely,
Pedro Eduardo Millan
