My name is Megan Gawlick and I am a Senior at St. Francis High School in Sacramento. I swim year-round (DART-SN) with a focus on Mid/Distance Freestyle. While competitive by nature, I am a strong team player and will support my fellow swimmers to reach their very best. Being a distance swimmer means I am often the last one at meets and practice without the cheering fans that are often seen during competition. I take this on as an individual challenge and it has taught me that I need to find the desire to compete and do well from within. I was a finalist at the 2022 and 2023 California San-Joaquin High School Section Championships in the 500 free. I won the 2023 SNS Open Water Swimming 15-18W 5K Championship and earned 3rd Place High Point 17-18 Girls with 1st in the 1500M Free, 2nd in the 800M Free and 3rd in the 400M Free. As a student, I strive to be the best. I have a 4.36 weighted GPA and am taking 4 AP classes during my Senior year. I am hoping to major in Chemistry at a college or university that allows me to excel, academically and socio-emotionally, both in and out of the pool.
