I started swimming at age 7 for the Tulare Sharks, a recreational team. I absolutely loved it! A few summers filled with meets passed by, and I realized I didn't just want to swim during the summer. I wanted to swim year round. I fell in love with the sport. So, I joined TNT, my current club team, at age 9. Throughout my 7 years of swimming, I have truly grown as a person. I have tapped into the Ava that is confident, strong, and determined. I like the challenge of swimming difficult events, such as the 400 IM and 500 free. This attitude has carried over to my schoolwork, resulting in a 4.0 GPA. I love learning, and I find myself always wanting to learn more!
In the sport of swimming, I am very patient. I know that my times will not always give me the results I want, so I will push even harder at practice before the next meet. This mentality definitely carries over to the artistic side of me. When I am not swimming or studying, I am painting. Painting gives you that "way out", it puts your brain in a state of relaxation. I think this sensation is crucial for any swimmer to have, simply because of the mental toughness required to swim competitively.
As you can see, I am very excited for my recruiting journey and I can not wait to talk with you.
Thank you!
