Personal Statement

Hello, my name is Kate Walsh and here’s a little bit about myself. I am always striving to do my best and will settle for no less.

My role model in swimming is Maggie Macneil because she is just an outright amazing swimmer and I would love to compete against her one day. Unfortunately due to Covid-19 the last sanctioned meet I have attended was back in March 2020 but I am eager to get back to racing. I want to continue swimming through post-secondary because of the amazing team experience and I would love to be pushed to become a better swimmer. I have joined this sport a bit late so only four years ago but from then I have pushed myself regardless and have gone from not even knowing how to swim to being in the top group on my team. In or out of the water I am always open to corrections and feedback from my coaches. I love to swim and I love getting in the water every day to give it my all!

In school, I am a dedicated scholar who maintains a high average in order to pursue my dreams. My strongest subjects are the sciences as well as they are my personal favourites and with that, I want to major in Biochemistry so that I will be able to go into a pre-dentistry program to ultimately become a dentist. I have accumulated some very efficient study habits and always stay on top of my work regardless of my circumstances.

I am looking for a college/university with good academics as well as a good team that would push me to better myself.
