I have only been swimming year-round for 3 years, but in that short time I have fallen in love with the sport. I believe swimming has helped better me not only as an athlete, but also as a person. I have learned how to set goals and work my hardest to achieve them. I have also learned how to be a leader on and off the pool deck.
I started coaching for a summer team in my area this year and I discovered that I really enjoy helping young kids and being a role model for them, just as I looked up to older swimmers when I first started in this sport.
In addition to swimming in college, I want to pursue a degree in the medical field because I have a passion for helping others. I hope to continue my journey at a college that will allow me to excel both athletically and academically.
