Gabriella Stephens '26 Recruiting Profile

I started swimming competitively for the RC Durr Barracudas when I was 6 years old- 9 years ago. During these 9 years, I have set countless team records and have gotten AA, Zones, and National cuts. What differentiates me from other athletes is my dedication to training and my ambition to keep improving. I started my 2022-2023 Fall season with a best time of 2:17.65 in the 200 yard IM. During the season I trained hard and I was able to get my time down to a 2:11.81 by the end of the season. I go to 8 practices a week- 3 mornings and 5 afternoons- and dry land 2 times a week. Although 9 years of swimming is a considerably long time, I have never gotten tired of the constant grind and packed training schedule.

In college I plan to major in nursing. When it comes to school and swimming I like to put in 100% all the time. I've been among the top students in all of my classes ever since elementary school. After swimming and going to school for so long, I've learned how to balance my schedule as a student-athlete to stay on top of my academic and athletic performances.

The connections that I have formed with my team made me realize that RCDB is more than just my team; it's my family. I want to swim for college because swimming is part of who I am, and I am not ready to give it up after high school.
