2017 Highlights Personal Statement
There has always been a love to swim throughout my life. I was never forced to go to practice because I enjoyed it so much. The feeling of working hard and getting through a difficult set to the best of my ability, then seeing the results at a meet, always came to me as an achievement .
My values in life are hard work , dedication, sacrifice, and giving back to the community. I volunteer at my middle school teaching children the sport that I am very passionate about. I have found a new joy in helping my community and giving back to others. As I continue to competitively swim and volunteering at the pool, it has made me have a new look on time management with my school work.
I take my schooling very seriously as I am just as passionate in that , as I am with swimming. Learning to manage homework and practice has been a skill that I have mastered. I love the atmosphere of being on a team, and everyone pitching in for a common goal; to win. I hope to bring the same level of dedication, hard work and enjoyment of the sport to my next four years of college swimming, and help them achieve their team goals.
