I have been swimming since I was6 months old. My mom was a competitive swimmer and she also skated at the Varsity level. My father played AAA hockey. My sister competes in dance at the national level in Canada. Since I first jumped in the pool, I have loved swimming and I have aspired to swim at the Olympics. I know that swimming in college is a once in a lifetime opportunity that could change my whole life. College sports is more competitive than in Canada and I would be honoured to join this elite level.
I am a very competitive swimmer and I feel I have the proper work ethic, techniques and times to succeed at the collegiate level. I am a team leader and try to lead by example while also encouraging my teammates. I am very coachable and strive to be one of the hardest working swimmers and one of the hardest working recruits you’ll find. I have not been able to swim at competitions recently as the pools in my area are closed due to the Covid pandemic and therefore my times have not been updated. The drive to excellence has only increased during my time away from the pool and I am more motivated than ever to get going again!
In the classroom, I study hard and maintain a high GPA (in Canada, honours is 80% and higher). My academic aspiration is to become a Doctor of Veterinary medicine. Prior to the pandemic, I volunteered at my local vet's clinic and I did equestrian riding on my time off.
I want to attend a college where I can push myself in the classroom and in the pool. I am open to all options and want to ultimately find the right college match at the highest level of competition possible. I hope to become a great role model to all my peers and make my parents proud.
