Madison Kim '20 Recruiting Profile

My name is Madison Kim and I am a junior at Chantilly High School.

I believe with my passion, hard work, and my ability to collaborate well with others, I will be an asset to the team. As a dedicated student-athlete I strive for success in and out of the pool each day as I put in the work and passion necessary to thrive in all that I do. My collegiate goal is to train with an elite program that will take me to my dreams of swimming at the Olympic trials and a school that has a great academic program to prepare me for a future in the sciences.  

My swimming career started back in elementary school in 6th grade when I first joined the Potomac Marlins. Right off the bat I fell in LOVE with the sport and continued to work diligently to improve. All of my coaches have commented on my dedication to the sport and how much effort I put into the water each practice and race. Recently I have switched to the Nation's Capital Swim Club at Claude Moore and continue to reflect my passion for the sport through my attitude and hard work.

Swimming makes me who I am as a person today and continues to play a huge part of my life. I fell in love with the feeling of just being in the water swimming laps and the rush I get when I beat my best time knowing all my hard work and effort has finally paid off.  From cheering on teammates until the meet has concluded and my voice is gone to encouraging others during a tough set, this sport and the community it creates is truly extraordinary.  I fall in love with this sport more and more everyday, with each set, practice and workout I push my self and find new ways to improve.
